Under the Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector, personal and confidential information is any information that identifies a natural person. Confidential information is therefore understood to mean any sensitive information whose access and use is restricted to persons or entities designated for this purpose, and whose dissemination would cause harm to the entity and its partners, or to individuals.
Baléco Inc (acting under the brand name The Unscented Company) acknowledges that it will have access to personal, confidential, strategic, commercial, technical or legal information related to the customer's operations, including, but not limited to, strategies, business opportunities, intellectual property, outsourcing agreements and other such information.

2. Applicable laws
Baléco Inc. is subject to the personal information protection provisions of the Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (RLRQ, c. P-39.1) when such information is held in the course of its functions and activities.
Personal information is collected in a number of ways, including through business model forms, database transfers, the online store, by communicating with us in person, by telephone, by mail, by e-mail, or by chat. Baléco Inc. only collects personal information that is necessary for the conduct of its business and for the fulfillment of identified purposes.
Depending on the circumstances, personal information may include company and organization identifiers, customer identifiers, payment management information, strategic or contractual information about an entity, etc.
4. Use of information
Measures have been put in place to ensure that only authorized persons have access to personal information and are authorized to process data. All Baléco Inc. employees, agents, and/or subcontractors who have access to computer systems and confidential data must sign a confidentiality agreement beforehand. Thus, no data will be transferred to a third party without the customer's written approval.
Baléco Inc. recognizes that Confidential Information remains the exclusive property of the customer and that any unauthorized disclosure of such Confidential Information may cause significant damage to the customer. In order to protect the customer's interests, Baléco Inc. will use the disclosed Confidential Information only for the purposes for which it was disclosed. In addition, all customer data remains confidential unless published in the media or by the customer.
A document is considered non-confidential:
- If it contains no personal information and has no strategic value for the entity
- If, at the time of disclosure, it was in the public domain
- If it becomes available, after the transfer of information between the customer and Baléco Inc. in a general way to the public, by publication or otherwise, and this disclosure is not the result of a fault committed by Baléco Inc.
- If it is disclosed to Baléco Inc. by a third party
- If it is government information
The information is collected and used for the following purposes:
- Sales and marketing
- Delivery of merchandise
- Customer service
- HR management
- To register, process, and save confidential data in the database
- To offer a specialized service in the soap-making field, while reducing our collective environmental impact
Baléco Inc. retains customers' personal information for as long as necessary to provide its services, or as required by applicable laws, regulations, or government orders. Personal information may be retained for different periods depending on the nature of the information and the purpose for which it is held. By using Baléco Inc. services, the customer consents to the transfer of personal information to its database. Baléco Inc. never sells personal data to third parties and written authorization is required before transferring confidential customer information to a third party.
Baléco Inc. has implemented appropriate physical, technological, and administrative safeguards to protect the confidentiality and security of personal information against accidental or unlawful destruction, accidental loss, alteration, unauthorized disclosure or access, misuse, or other unlawful means of processing personal information in its possession.
However, no Internet transmission method or electronic storage medium is 100% secure. If you have reason to believe that the confidentiality of personal and/or confidential information has been compromised, please contact the person responsible for access to documents and protection of personal information.
Furthermore, Baléco Inc. agrees to immediately take the necessary steps to limit the damage that could result from a breach, to conduct an investigation to identify any vulnerabilities, and to take the necessary corrective measures to avoid any recurrence of such an incident.
The contents of this policy may be changed without notice to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, and other factors. Changes to this policy will be effective immediately. We encourage you to stay informed about how Baléco Inc. handles personal information.
